Founded on Faith and Community

In June 2005, the Brethren in Christ Church adopted Community Preschool, which had started 30 years earlier at another site in the community, and which had an excellent reputation for providing quality education and childcare.

Today Community Preschool has a well-developed program, an excellent facility, and a dedicated, professional staff that serve the children and families of the community with quality education and childcare in a loving environment.

Through meaningful relationships, developmentally appropriate learning experiences, and Biblical values, we strive to build strong character, encourage curiosity, and equip every child with the confidence and skills needed to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.

About Our Teachers & Staff

At B.I.C. Community Preschool, we believe that exceptional early childhood education begins with exceptional teachers. Our caring, experienced team is dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

Qualified & Caring Professionals

Our teachers are carefully selected for their passion for working with young children, their professionalism, and their commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education. Each member of our staff is dedicated to supporting every child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through meaningful learning experiences and loving care.

Education & Ongoing Training

Our teaching team meets or exceeds the educational requirements established by the State of California for early childhood educators. Staff members participate in ongoing professional development throughout the year to stay current with best practices in child development, classroom management, health and safety, and age-appropriate curriculum.

CPR & First Aid Certified

The safety and well-being of every child is our highest priority. All staff members maintain current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification and receive regular health and safety training to ensure they are prepared to respond confidently in any situation.

Background Checked & Licensed

For your peace of mind, every employee undergoes a comprehensive background clearance, including fingerprinting through the California Department of Justice and FBI, as required by Community Care Licensing. Our staff also completes all state-mandated health, safety, and child abuse prevention training before working with children.

Rooted in Faith

For close to 125 years the Upland BIC Church has been a visible and life-giving presence in the Upland community. Over the decades, the church has grown to include a chapel-library, fellowship hall, and expanded facilities for children and youth. In 2005, the BIC Community Preschool and Kindergarten was established, and in 2023 was voted Best Childcare Service in Upland for its quality service to the 120 families that call the school home.

As a church-affiliated preschool, we incorporate biblical teachings into our daily activities, including weekly chapel services where children learn age-appropriate Bible stories, songs, and verses. This spiritual foundation complements our academic curriculum, helping children develop strong character and moral values.

We welcome families of all faith backgrounds and strive to create an inclusive environment where every child feels loved and valued.
